After many months of studying, today has come for my first paper that is POA.
been studying everyday all these while (and for those who knows me will know that i have very short attention span, which means i never in my life studied everyday and dread sitting at the table for more that 1 hr at a time) but i really persevere as i know taking a degree is not the same as in poly where you can study last min.

i freaked out during the 15mins reading time as i flipped through all the qns.

Section A: choose 6 qns - 5 mrks each
Section B: P & L and Balance Sheet (Compulsory) - 30 marks
Section C: choose 2 qns - 20 marks each

for the first time in my life, i've nv seen a paper so difficult and tedious.

usually, i have no prob at choosing 6 qns for section A, but the options available are all so difficult and tedious, so i finally choose my six but decide to do 4 first as doing that 4 is so tricky and takes alot of my time thinkng it through. P & L and balance sheet is also tricky and alot alot of adjustments. all the adjustments are chunk by chunk..

really hope to get cash flow statement for section C, but to my disappointment, CF only comes out at Section A and it does not tally as they only gave us depn and loss on disposal therefore doing the capital expenditure part halfway as we do not know the cash proceeds from disposal...

ends up section c and i'm left with 30 mins to the end of paper..i know my chances of finishing both qns are slim..so between the NPV and cash budget...i choose to do the NPV as it is more easier to score points as the cash budget have too many adjustments and thinking to do for 30 mins..20 marks down the drain for only finishing 1 qns.

tha paper is damn tough as it is harder than prelims, 08 & 07 papers...omg omg!! really hope i could pass this paper...totally not enough time given as the adjustment are very lengthy and need to decipher what they are trying to say...

morale of the story: UOL papers are not easy to pass although the passing mrks is 34/100 (passing marks is 34 for a reason as it is really hard to score their marks since there's alot to do and think for a meagre few marks)

quit bitching bout the paper and move on as there are 3 more papers to go.

pls give me a pass...

OMGGGGGGGGGG...

My prelims begins in March...and the worst part is that i've not finished studying for it. OMGG. been freaking out lately with some many things to do yet so little time!!. Sometimes i wonder if its really worth it to study this far for just a mere paper and for the future. the bright side of the paper is that your starting pay will be higher than a diploma's, you'll have higher chance of a promotion. bla bla bla.

the down side of it is..you'll need to study damn hard for just a mere frekkin paper. the worst part..not everything you study will apply in the real working world. i've asked many friends who've graduated and now working..the typical qns i'll ask them is.."DO what you've studied really apply and relevant to your job" most tell me "No" they will tell me they only used like 20% of what they studied to the working world.. most is your intelligence, ability to adapt and experience.

Uni is a totally diff experience from Poly. In Poly, you can slack almost everyday, study last min like 2 days before..but Uni..you need to be CONSISTENT at all times. i'm still getting used to it.

i've only started studying during Jan..do some reading which i know i will forget since i've short term memory..so i'm starting back to square 1 this month. with prelims in March and the real exam in May..there's just so much to cover with so little time.

4 modules (Macro, Principles of Accounting, Principles of Banking & Finance & Corporate Finance)

what i think about prelims: OBVIOUSLY, i cannot finish studying by March. this is due to my late start on the module and also the mentality that prelims does not carry any weight at all to my degree. So the most i'm going to do is try to attempt the paper to my very best.

i hope to finish studying all my modules by end March so that i can start on past exam papers/ examiner's report on April. this way..my short term memory brain can take it.

1. Prepare mentally for the Exam that carries 100% weightage for your Honours Degree

3. Pray Hard you will not fail any modules especially Macroeconomics since next year will be 20++ chapters instead of 12 you're doing rite now.

this may seem little..but its actually alot as i need to read 3 diff things sometimes 4 for just one chapter. imagine how many things i need to cover for ALOT of chapters of just one Module. then times 4 modules i'm taking. THATS ALOT TO READ AND STUDY.

i used to think during my working times at MDS that days and weeks goes by very fast. Right now, its not weeks but Months flew by damn fast without me noticing. after one month ends, i'm always asking myself what i've been doing the past month..

haiz..if only i could turn back time.....

yesterday house warming at my cuz house is okay..the house is nice, love the design of the house.

stayed there for only 1 hour because of the parking coupon. its like pointless to go off so early. disadvantage of having car. thought my mom would talk to my aunt till late at night (so that have a chance to see my cuz) dotz

went home to read the macroeconomics chp 1 and 2. realize i've forgotten some of it..haiz what should i do with my short term memory. the most i'm trying is to study and understand...then read through before exam to refresh my memory....so many chapters so little time.

watch "Groom My School" at OKTO today.. so coincidence..when i was chnl surfing, came across cadets wearing NCC Air uniform. so i pause my chnl surfing to know whats going on..turn out they are grooming SJI Ncc Air CCA room...hahaha...many things in common with our Swiss Air room last time...its messy and small. but SJI cca room is bigger that swiss..

lurve the outcome of the room. they shopped at salvation army too..maybe can check out there one day. beginning to miss my NCC Air days at Swiss terribly..SJI's dummy rifle is the same as ours..miss the fun day where we're in charge during sec 3..i think our batch has done our best to make it a memorable one..thats y i'm still missing it now...hahah. lurve playing games and water boms that irrate the Saint John's people beside our room...if only i could turn back time...i would video tape all the stuff we've done. from painting our face with the army oil base face paint to camoufladging in the school..fun fun!! now we only have memories to live with..but a good one..

Arhhhhgggg...2nd day of fasting only and my "Ta yi mah" came. so sad lah.its like i already woke up early in the morning and only got to find it out later afternoon at bout 3pm. so wasted lah...haiz

Horrible 1st day of fasting

Mom woke up to see my maid eating alone in the kitchen and the food is not laid out yet for us to eat. whose fault?? both my mom & my maid.

mom gave my maid an alarm clock so that she could wake up in the morning and heat up all the food then call us up. the problem is my mom only told her wake up. not wake all of us up. so she assume that we would wake up by ourselves.

hahaha. i could imagine my mom woke up and found my maid eating on her own. like kenna caught an act red handed.

the day later on went as per normal..wait till 7.07pm to break fast.
